Every time it comes to this song my knees are generally aching (having to crawl the stage on them doesn’t help) and the crowd in front of me blurs, but what does it matter? I get to make my way over to you, you get to bend down next to me, and we both get to sing. To me there are additional benefits: e.g. feeling your warm rough hand grasping my shoulder, your lips entirely too close to my own, your breathed-out ‘Heirate mich!’ hot against my cheek.
Well, sure, the whole song is called ‘Marry Me’,
But that doesn’t change the fact that I only mean it once every time I sing it.
